Frequently Asked Questions

1) Why do appliance prices vary so much?

Certain higher end appliances cost more pending on their finishes, such as stainless steel. We also price appliances based on purchase price, parts and labor into the machine. New Scratch & Dent appliances are half of the MSRP.

2) Is repairing an appliance a good investment?

It certainly can be depending on whether parts are still available for your model. If for instance, you find your part, but see that a lot of other parts are discontinued, then it might be time to upgrade your appliance.

3) When should I buy a new appliance instead of repairing mine?

You should buy a new appliance instead of repairing when parts are scarce for your model. You will not want to put a bunch of money into your appliance to repair it, then not be able to fix it next time it breaks down.

4) If I have an old appliance that I need to get rid of, how do I do that?

You can take old appliances to your local dump (they may charge a fee to dispose of refrigeration) or you can take it to a scrap metal yard and they will recycle the metal. Depending on the price of light iron, metal yards may pay you for it. If you are having your appliance delivered through us, the delivery company will remove for a small fee.

5) Can I put my refrigerator against the wall?

You should never have your refrigerator pushed all the way against the wall. It needs at least an inch in the back of the fridge and the sides to be able to breath.

6) How can I get someone to come look at my appliance?

You can call us or email us to set up an appointment.

7) What types of appliances do you repair?

We work on stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers and dishwashers. We do not work on commercial appliances. When calling or emailing, please include your make and model number so that we may let you know if we can get access to parts for your brand of appliance.

8) Do you offer weekend service?

We do not offer weekend service. As with most appliance repair companies, we do not have access to appliance parts on Saturday or Sunday.

9) What is your service area?

Our service area is generally within a 20 mile radius of our store.

10) Can you order all the parts you might need to fix my appliance?

As long as you know for sure what part you need, we can order it ahead of your service call. If we are to diagnose the problem, we would have to see the appliance first to determine what parts, if any, it needs before we order them. Many parts these days are not able to be returned once the packaging is opened (i.e. electronic boards). In addition, many parts during this pandemic are Factory back ordered with no ETA.
